About Us
Heralders Children's Choir is a non-auditioned choir specifically for home school children living in Salt Lake City and surrounding areas. This choir has been delighting audiences with their musical excellence and contagious enthusiasm since 1995. We believe that music is a powerful tool for fostering creativity, building confidence, and creating lifelong memories. Our
Story
What is a Heralder, anyway? A herald is a person (or an angel) who announces important news or messages. Our singers are Heralders!
Home schooled children have been "heralding" since 1995. It all began with the vision of Lorraine Dowdie, a mom, who wanted to give hom schooled children a quality choral experience and an opportunity to "herald" their message into the community. She chose "Miss Debby" to direct the choir after hearing her speak at a Home School Convention on Child Voice and Singing. In 2023, Miss Debby introduced "Miss Michelle" as an Assistant Director and prepared her to take over as choir director. Miss Michelle began her role as choir director in Spring 2025.
